Friday, March 22 ~ Illustrator Master Class by Laurent Linn at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts at 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. (Optional $75; space is limited.)

Friday, March 22  ~ Kidlit Drink Night from 5:30-7:00 pm on the Veranda at The Columns Hotel on St. Charles Avenue . This is a casual meetup with a cash bar. Reservations for this night are not required. However, as a courtesy please email RA Cheryl Mathis: if you plan on attending.

Saturday, March 23 ~ JambaLAya Kidlit Conference ~ Registration Opens at 7:45 am – $25 discount for early-birds (until January 15)

JambaLAya Kidlit Conference  from 9 am – 5:30 pm at Academy of Sacred Heart on historic St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans.

Saturday Conference Sessions include:
• Opening address by 2017 Louisiana Writer of the Year Johnette Downing
• Workshops with Editor Grace Kendall, Agent Jennifer Laughran, Art Director Laurent Linn and award-winning author and scholar Freddi Williams Evans
• First Pages Session with Grace Kendall, Jennifer Laughran and Laurent Linn
• Portfolio Showcase and Contest judged by Laurent Linn

Face-to-face Critiques:
A limited number of 12-minute one-on-one consultations are available from FS&G/Macmillan Editor Grace Kendall, Agent JenniferLaughran, Pelican Publishing Editor-in-Chief Nina Kooij, and Freelance Editor Catherine Frank. These fill up FAST … so register today.

Illustrator Face-to-face Critiques: A limited number of illustrator critiques will be available from Simon & Shuster Art Director Laurent Linn. (Additional $45 fee for each).

Author Written Critiques: A limited number of written critiques will be available from authors Crystal Allen, Sarah Campbell, Caroline Rose Starr, Leslie Staub and Freddi Evans. (Additional $35 fee for each).

Lunch is included:
Jambalaya (of course) with both meatless and meatful choices, french bread, chips, salad and beverages. Also coffee and NOLA-style breakfast will be available at registration.

Saturday, March 23 ~ 5:45 pm
Dinner with the conference faculty at Superior Seafood restaurant, directly across the street from the conference venue. There is a separate $35 fee for attending with a cash bar (See Menu on Conference Saturday Night Dinner on Sidebar.)

Sunday, March 24 ~ PAL Meeting  ~  in the Hospitality Room The Garden District Hampton Inn at 9 am. (Additional $10 fee.)

Refund Policy: Full conference tuition refund minus $50 administrative fee until January 15, 2019, except there will be no refund on manuscript or portfolio consultation fees. Thereafter, there is a 50 percent of conference tuition refund (except for manuscripts or portfolio consultations) until February 1, 2019. There is no refund after February 1, 2019.
