PAL* Meeting – Sunday morning at 9:00 am in the Hospitality Room of the Hampton Inn on St. Charles Avenue. This will be a meet and greet with coffee and muffins, followed by a round table discussion moderated by ARA Gary Alipio and PAL Coordinator Sarah Frances Hardy. The topic is: “Book Promo: What works? What doesn’t? What cost?”.
1. Marketing/promotional materials
2. Social media
3. Book conferences and book fairs
4. School visits
Please bring your marketing materials to share with the group—bookmarks, postcards, flyers, adhesive mustaches (okay, maybe that’s just me, but they were perfect freebies to go along with one of my books). It really does help to see what others in the hive are doing. Also, we’d love to hear your “what worked? what didn’t?” stories.
*P.A.L. stands for “Published and Listed.” This level of membership is open to those whose books, articles, poems, stories, illustrations, photographs, films, television or electronic media for children have been commercially published by one of the organizations listed in the SCBWI Market Surveys. P.A.L. members may have a speaker’s listing in the “Find A Speaker” area of the site. They are also able to sell books at certain regional events where such sales are organized and sponsored by the regional chapter.
